mumei is an small independent publisher based in UK and Germany. We started in 2015 and has published a series of journal from ONE to NINE with physical imprint FIVE onwards.
mumei is a joint endeavour of Heather Frasch and Ryoko Akama. We are determined to bring a diversity of talent to wider audiences. We wish to redefine the idea of sound art, music, text and visual material in the the quality of visual format.
As we began our journey, we have been privileged to work with the best international artists, musicians, composers and designers to think of our fundamental interest – how do we perceive sound through eyes and vision through ears.
We also organise performance events and exhibitions internationally.
